<< This was written near the end of 1998. Most of the predictions proved inacurate but i have kept it up as historic and as a humbling reminder to all of us would be prophets of doom. The prevailing spirit of those days was of coming revival and impending disaster. Foreboding mixed with exitment over living in "Interesting" times. Like generations before, we stood facing the dawn of a new age, anticipating that our arbitrary calenders would somehow bring about drastic change in the universe. Y2K came and went with more of a wimper than a bang and life went on. These days Y2K has been all but forgotten. Our lives have been changed by the unforseen events of 9/11 not the predicted chaos of Y2K. >>
1999 Year in Preview

1999 should be an interesting year. Just look at what we have so far... Impeachment Hearing looms in the Senate, the Middle East boils to the edge of eruption, the old 'Soviet Union' states continue to teeter on the edge as old guard communists try to regain power. The Sleeping Dragon begins to bristle, Japan feels the crunch of the Asian economic troubles, Europe begins its single currency, America continues it's boom, but Y2K fears loom in the near future.
What does it all mean, where is the world headed? Pull it all together, read the Word, and see the Headlines of the future.
The G7 nations, the world economic power,
has quietly become the G10. Yes, there are 7 heads with 10 horns.
7 great economic powers acting as one, led by a group of 10 world
leaders. Together (and don't forget these same nations control
the UN) this confederacy effectively rules the world. Forget
governments, borders, and the like; money makes the world go
round, and they control the money through the World Bank. We have
a one world government now.
Y2K problems this year, coupled with existing political and
economic troubles, will allow this group to consolidate that
power and, in effect, make national governments no more than
'states' or 'provinces' under a new empire. The New World Order.
The Global Village.
What about this Y2K thing? It really doesn't matter if it is real or not, the perception is all that matters. If people fear economic collapse, they will produce it. If people fear Bank failure, they withdrawl their money, and the Banks will fail. We live in a world of smoke and mirrors. Reality has very little to do with anything, it's all in popular opinion. Modern media creates reality, or virtual reality. We believe what we hear and act accordingly. So what happens if everyone panics, the economy hangs on the verge of collapse, civilization as we know it is in danger of disappearing, and the G10 comes to the rescue? All hail the G10. And if paper money supplies run short (which by all accounts it will soon), and the computers prove to be stable, why not just go to an e-currency. And since we love computers so much, and all our information and economy is there, why not a direct link with the machine through a bio-chip (we already have them, this is not science fiction folks). They can be implanted in the hand or forehead, giving us access to the Internet (and our bank account) without a keyboard. The forerunner, the 'smart card', has already passed through congress, as the infamous 'National Health Card', while we all watched Monica on TV.
The Beast is here, the mark is coming soon, and with it the false prophet. But Christians will not stand for that, so the persecution must be close (actually that has already begun too). But what about this Big Revival of the Church everyone is preaching about? Don't hold your breath. The Church is not in revival, it is in apostasy. i know, these are hard words but we have hard times coming. Hear the Spirit of Truth... "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first". The modern church has become a business, and to stay in business they must fill the pews (and the collection plate). If you need the mark to buy and sell, you'll need the mark to tithe. A little conflict of interest there, but they will work it out. The church is already becoming politically correct. The next step into total apostasy will be a breeze. Then all that is left is to aid the beast in persecuting the true Body of Christ. Hear the Spirit of Truth... "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues."
So what do the next twelve months look like?
The Y2K panic will grow as it appears more and more in the news.
People will begin to withdraw cash, and sell stocks, causing an
economic crunch. The effects will snowball as the year goes on.
Emboldened, or paniced, by the worlds economic woes, violence
will flare up around the world. The UN and the G10 will be given
unpresidented powers as the "Great Whore", who created
this world system, becomes self consumed by her own troubles.
Because of America's instability, UN headquarters will be moved
from New York to perhaps Rome or the Middle East.
A street movement will appear worldwide, but will be dismissed by
the church as a false revival brought about by 'unstable people'
who have been driven over the edge by economic problems. This
'mass insanity' will spread like the fires of Pentecost. The
adherents of this new religion will be dismissed and demonized by
the church and dubbed radical and dangerous by the State.
Supplies of cash will run short, fueling fears. The G10 will
institute a worldwide electronic currency that will be guarunteed
to survive Y2K, as the 'new' Y2K compliant Internet Protocols are
unvailed. With the world economy firmly under control, political
authority will be centralized. January 1, 2000 could very well
come in like the "Night of broken glass" in Berlin. All
hail the birth of the final world empire.
This could be a scary scenerio, except for one thing... GOD is still in control. We are not given a Spirit of Fear, but of Power. Praise GOD! Jesus said "Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors." If we see prophecy being fulfilled day by day, and we begin to be persecuted for the faith we hold, we know that our Lord is on His way. He promised that those days would be shortened for our sake. We shall be taken out. Not before tribulation or persecution is suffered, but before the Great and Terrible day of the LORD. GOD will not pour His wrath out on His people. But we will see hard times, and our faith and commitment will be put to the test. Prepare, there are perilous times ahead but there are Glorious times as well.
What is the Holy Spirit telling You? That's what it comes down to. Your personal, one on one relationship with the Creator of the universe. If you don't know the True King of Kings, time is running out. There will come a time when the Holy Spirit and the Church (the true Church) are taken out of this world. Then it will be too late. But even if all the "Doomsday" preachers are wrong, if there is a GOD (and there is) and if He Judges (and He does) then you will stand before Him someday. That could be 50 years from now when you die of old age, or it could be tonight. No man knows how long he will live, or when he will meet His Creator. Meet Him now, on your knees. He loves you and wants to welcome you back into the family. Heaven rejoices when the prodigal son returns home. Don't wait until it is too late and you hear about all us crazy radicals flying off into the sky.
