The Growing Darkness

i have written over and over again on Violence. Our world is full of it, our culture seems to be based on it, our language permeated with it. We are a violent people in a violent world. Our movies, TV, music, literature, all filled with violence. We are a ticking time bomb waiting to go off.

One of "our" children went off again this week. A fifteen year old in Georgia. Again we are shocked (but less so than last time). This is becoming less "news" and more mundane. No one killed, so the news people will just add it as a sideline to the ongoing Columbine story. After all, this is only news at all because the shooter was a "white, middle class male, from a good home in a good town". If this had been a black kid in LA or New York or Atlanta, then it would have only made the local news as "another drug related shooting". This is not "new", it goes on every day in the parts of our society we don't want to look at. The News comes when it effects "our kids", in "our neighborhoods". Maybe if we had cared to try and understand why kids can practice rape and murder as a normal part of their gang life we might have been able to head off these "tragedies" in suburbia.

For generations our government has been practicing its secular agenda with the poorest and most vulnerable among us. Through their social programs, they have been able to influence our society on a massive scale. In the name of "charity", they have drawn a huge segment of our population in godless social theory. In the last few decades they have moved their social engineering out into the mainstream of the population. In the name of political correctness they have thrust the polluted backwaters of our society into the primary flow of our culture. What was once vile and abhored, is now "alternate". What we once criminalized, we now subsidize.

WHERE IS THE CHURCH !?! Where have they been for the last hundred or so years? Had we not abandoned the "least, last, and lost" among us, and let the godless government shelter them, we would not be where we are now. Jesus said "Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's". When did He say 'let Caesar feed the poor' or 'let Caesar teach your children'. The WORD says "Bring up your children in the way they should go and when they are old they will not depart from it". We gave our brothers over to the world, we are giving our children over to the world. The Church has sat in its pews, lamenting the decay of our society, and leaving its ministry to the enemy. They cry for "Revival" as children die in the streets. They enjoy their "Love Feasts" as men go hungry. They build great temples to 'their god' as families go homeless. They say in their hearts 'forget the tired, hungry and poor. The government will handle them. Bring us your energetic, wealthy, white folks'.

The Church has lost it. Christianity is at best a joke, and at worst a force for apostacy in our nation. They live on the blood of the saints and, like Nero, play as their great city burns. GOD will not hold this generation blameless if we turn our backs on the next. We are handing our children over to the Beast. Our children learn more by what we do than by what we say. They are not blind, they see the world around them. A little church once a week does not impress them when they see what we allow in the "real world". They see the church's hypocracy and turn away. They see the hurting, the poor, the homeless, the sick, the destitute, then they see the great cathedrals, the padded pews, hear the elders arguing over buying a new air-conditioner or a new church bus. They see the hateful stares and hear the murmers if someone enters the church that is not dressed well enough or is less than desirable.

Columbine, and all the other acts of youth violence, is not an indictment on our society, it is an indictment on the church. The church jumped on the fact that the boys in Colorado targeted Christians, but the young man in Georgia attended his youth group at church the night before he opened fire. The churches are not immune to the sin of the world because they have become part of the world. There is more of the world in the church than the church in the world.

The WORD says "come out from among them my people". The church is apostate, the world in need of our light. It is time for the sleepers to awaken, for the Children of Obedience to stand up and proclaim the Day of the Lord. Judgement is coming quickly, the "church age" is past. There will be no "Great Revival" behind the walls of stone and stained glass. The move of the Lord is with His people, not in buildings made by man. If a man were starving to death, and you witheld food from him, would you be responsible for his death? The world is starving for the Bread of Life. Will you withhold it, or sell it for a price, as the church has? Jesus said "whatever you do to these, the least of my children, you do to Me".

We can not abandon our youth. We can not allow them to be nurtured (damned) by this world. If we do not show them the Way, who will? The government, the media, the church? They have all failed, and sent our children away hungry. Our children are dying for a lack of knowledge. Feed them the Bread of Life.
