Warfare on the World Wide Web
Many of you are Seasoned Warriors, quite use to warring in the Spirit Realm. This is why you have come to this Warriors Fellowship. Others are still finding their footing or just looking for a way to defend yourself from the attacks of the enemy. This message is for all who stand against the enemy on the Internet.
The Internet is a strange place, almost a shadow world, where reality blends with the virtual landscape of dreams and fantasies. We imagine much more than is actually there; or does our imaginings bring it into existence? But the dangers are real, the temptations almost overwhelming. The enemy has woven a Web of Darkness around the world and baited it with all the desires of the human heart; all within the reach of fingertips on a keyboard.
Why are we on the Net? Why have we entered into the enemies greatest fortress? We, the Warriors of the Web, have been called to this place. Comissioned to shine the light of Christ into the darkness. We stand in the midst of this Electronic Pit, surfing with ease where angels would fear to tread. We have our electronic Bibles loaded on the hard drive, our favorite Christian links loaded in our browser, and we are ready to battle. Are we really?
How do we battle on the net? What are our tools here? Is it our knowledge of code, our web pages, our typing ability, our gift for 'chat'? No... the devils crowd have all that. Many could, perhaps, outflank us in every catagory. We have what we have always had, the Holy Ghost and power. That is what we take with us into this new frontier of "Cyber-Space". We carry, what every warrior since Peter has carried, the Holy Spirit.
Many do not realize this, and that is all in the plan of the devil. He wants you striped of the Holy Ghost Power when he comes against you. He wants to convince you that the Gifts are not active over the web. How can you reach over the thousands of miles of cables to touch someone he has in his grasp? You can't, but the Holy Spirit can. Think about it... If you were standing right beside someone possessed with a fell spirit, could YOU cast it out? No, again it is the Holy Spirit that works. Your location is irrelevant. The Spirit moves where He wills.
The restrictions of the web are a problem for us, but the Holy Spirit ovecomes all. Often when we think we are seeing some headway, the computer will crash, or our connection is lost, or the person we are chatting with signs off unexpectedly. The Holy Spirit can't be cut off. He continues to work, as should we. Here, as in all times, prayer is our greatest weapon. Just because the enemy hinders us we can not just give up and quit. Press on, pray through, and keep fighting.
All of the spiritual gifts are active on the Internet, yes ALL. We can funtion online in any Spiritual Gifts GOD has granted us. The internet is actually wonderful training for us, it forces us to rely 100% on the Spirit. The physical world is of no help here, we act completely in the Spiritual Realm. We can't, physically reach out and touch anything, we can't even see anything but flashes of light on a screen. But through the Holy Spirit we can 'touch' anything we set our heart to. Physically, we are stuck behind a keyboard, cut off from the 'real world', yet, through the Holy Spirit, we travel in Spiritual Realms, wheresoever the Spirit leads.
The enemy desires to keep us in darkness on his web. The Internet can chew Christians up, dragging them into temptation and sin, crushing their faith through deception. It can also be a training ground for warriors, teaching us to walk by faith not by sight. Here we do what we can and trust the Holy Spirit to carry us through. Stand firm Warriors. Keep Storming the Web for Jesus.
